David Driscoll - Atlanta, GA

David Driscoll grew up in Northern Maine in an environment where he felt free from religious bigotry. He also lived in several cities as an adult, most recently Los Angeles. He would have been content to live and let live if he had not experienced “in your face” religion when he landed in Atlanta, Georgia. Driscoll decided to get involved in the movement to promote reason over righteousness when the Governor of his adopted state held a prayer vigil for rain on the capitol steps. David helped organize the placement of the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s “Imagine no Religion” billboard in Atlanta, and started the American Freethought Podcast with co-host John C. Snider. Driscoll also hosts AAI's Secular Nation Podcast. He lives in the newly incorporated John’s Creek, Georgia with his wife Vonda and their two extremely furry Persian Cats, Tucker and Savannah.

Sean Curley

Hello, my name is Sean Curley and I'm an AAI Ambassador for Colorado and surrounding areas. I grew up a fairly devout Catholic, being an alter boy and using my lunch hour during high school sometimes to lead the rosary. Then college awakened me to the worlds religions and from there, over a number of years, I came to understand how fake it all is and therefore became an Atheist. More often though, I refer to myself as a Humanist because I think it starts at a friendlier place and spurs a more productive conversation.

In my endeavors to promote both Humanism and Atheism, I'm a Humanist Celebrant, performing non-religious weddings and other ceremonies; I published a book called Humanism for Parents - Parenting without Religion; I'm on the board of the Boulder International Humanist Institute; have a web site: http://spiritualhumanist.info; belong to the Denver Atheists and Freethinkers (DAFT), and the Humanists of Colorado; I periodically talk on subjects ranging from parenting to the foundations of Christianity; and, of course, I'm an AAI Ambassador.

I'm currently divorced with four kids living at home roughly half time and spend my spare time reading, writing, running and fixing up the house. My "regular" career is in software and I have advanced degrees in Computer Science, Engineering Management, and Space Studies. Finally, I'm in the middle of writing my first novel (historical fiction), which I find much more difficult than writing non-fiction.

I'm always open to questions or comments, so fire away :)

Welcome to the AAI Ambassador Blog!

Welcome to the AAI Ambassador Blog!  I have created this blog so that we can keep you, our Affiliates, updated with news and information about the Ambassador Program.  Please feel free to share this blog with anyone else that is interested in the AAI Ambassador Program.

This blog is also intended to be an open forum to discuss the Ambassador Program, share best practices with each other, and brainstorm solutions to some of the challenges that we all face in growing and coordinating the Atheist community.

I look forward to hearing from you all and hope that you will participate!

Regards,
Noelle, Ambassador Director
